Article Title: Cell hiding in colorectal cancer: correlation with response to chemotherapy in vitro and in vivo

doi: 10.1038/s41598-024-79948-1

Figure Lengend Snippet: The excitation and emission wavelengths used on LSM880.

Article Snippet: To visualize the CICs in live cell cultures the vital fluorescent dyes CFSE (Thermo Fisher Scientific, USA) and Tag-it Violet (BioLegend, USA) were used according to the manufacturer’s protocol.

Techniques:

CIC structures in five colorectal cancer cell lines and their correlation with chemosensitivity. A –Representative confocal fluorescence images of HCT116, CaCo-2, HT29, SW480, SW837 cells in suspension cultures. Green color—CFSE dye, blue color—Tag-it Violet dye. White arrows indicate the CIC structures. The main morphological sign of CICs in fluorescence microscopy images is a cytoplasmic rim of one color around a spherical cell of a different color. Bar = 50 µm. B –Representative confocal z-stack of fluorescence images of CaCo-2 cells showing the CIC structure. C –Representative transmission electron microscopy image of CaCo-2 cells showing the CIC structure. Bar = 2 µm. D –IC50 values for the tested cell lines, E –CICs percentage in the tested cell lines (suspension culture). P-values for multiple comparison of all cell lines are presented in Supplementary Table S1. F –Correlation between IC50 values and CICs percentage in five cancer cell lines.
